Si pudiera describir este viaje con una sola palabra, sería: transformador. Desde que era joven, siempre he tenido el deseo de ir a una misión, así que cuando se presentó la oportunidad, la acepté con entusiasmo. Las personas que he conocido me han inspirado profundamente en aspectos de fe, trabajo duro y comunidad. Comenzar cada día con la misa y una hora santa ha profundizado enormemente mi fe y mi deseo de servir a las personas que he encontrado.
Desde conocer a los niños pequeños hasta visitar y pasar tiempo en oración con las familias, mis ojos se han abierto a la realidad de que Jesús vive en el corazón de cada persona. Algo que realmente he amado de este viaje es el sentido de comunidad que hemos construido entre nosotros en tan poco tiempo. Las conversaciones profundas y enriquecedoras, ya sea por la mañana en el autobús, durante nuestro trabajo en la escuela o por la noche después de la cena, me han llenado de alegría. No podría estar más agradecido con Dios por permitirme encontrarlo a través de la gente de Perú.
If I could describe this trip using one word it would be: transformative. From the time I was young, I’ve always had the desire to go on mission so when the opportunity came, I jumped eagerly. The people I have encountered have truly inspired me in aspects of faith, hard work, and community. Starting each day with mass and holy hour has truly deepened my faith and my desire to serve the people I have been encountering. From meeting the young children, to visiting and spending time in prayer with families, my eyes have truly been open to the fact that Jesus lives within the hearts of each and every person. Something I have truly loved about this trip is the sense of community that we have built with each other within our short period of time together. The deep and fulfilling conversations had whether it be in the morning on the bus, during our work at the school, or late night after dinner, have filled me with such joy. I truly couldn’t be more thankful to God for allowing me to encounter Him through the people of Peru.
